In all cases a receipt/proof of purchase must accompany any claims along with a confirmation of extended warranty record. Receipts are only valid if purchased from an accredited MLA wholesaler or retailer

MLA Extended Warranty Terms and Conditions

I. Conditions of extended Warrantee or Guarantee Period:

Registration must take place and have been acknowledged within 12 months of the original date of purchase.

The extension is effective from the expiration of MLA standard 12 month guarantee.

Applies only to purchases of new products that were purchased from an authorised MLA UK wholesaler or retailer. If purchased through any other means or outlets extended warranties will not be granted.

Where it is requested that fittings are returned, this means all parts of the fitting including the driver must be returned (if requested), along with proof of purchase and registration number confirmation. The purchase must be verified by the production of a valid receipt.

II. Period

The extended warranty takes effect instantly after the end of the initial 12month warranty period and providing the extended warranty has been genuinely and correctly registered, it will continue effective for a total period of 4 or7 years from the date of purchase.

III. Facilities and Services.

Upon examination if a faulty item is deemed to be beyond repair, MLA reserves the right at its sole discretion to provide customers with a new product of equivalent specification.

Any repaired or exchanged products will be covered by the extended warranty for the remaining period of the extended warranty relating to the original Products supplied.

IV: Product excluded

MLA shall not be liable for the repair or replacement in the event that a product has failed due to any the following:

• Nonconformity with installation and safety guidelines given in the fixing instructions.

• Faults caused by the contractor or installer (whosoever this may be)through installation faults including, but not limited to; connection to an inappropriate or incorrect power supply.

• The product has not been installed by a qualified electrician.

• Incorrect use or intentional destruction, by the owner or third parties.

• Repairs have been carried out by anyone other than an MLA approved contractor or representative.

• Peripheral influences (eg. weather, transit damage and storage).

• Accidental damage

V: MLA shall only be liable for repair costs carried out by MLA’s approved technicians or accredited agents. If, during a claim visit, no fault can be found for which MLA is responsible in accordance with the terms and conditions of the extended warranty, MLA reserves the right to charge what is deemed reasonable for call-out charges and labour costs occurred.

Carriage costs of items under the extended warrantee are not covered

VI. Liabilities

MLA shall not be liable for any unauthorised repairs or for any additional or replacement fittings installed by an unauthorised installer or agent.

MLA shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss eg. for any loss of profit, or any special terms, any costs, damages, charges, fees or expenses except for liability that MLA is not allowed to dismiss by law.

MLA’s total liability in connection with the provision of the products shall be restricted and limited to the price paid by the customer for that product.

Subject to our terms and conditions all products purchased excluding lamps (whether supplied inclusive or when sold separately) and glass parts are subject to a guarantee period of 12 months from date of purchase.

Our manufacturer’s guarantee and our extended warranty are in addition to your statutory rights as a consumer and are not affected by the terms and conditions defined above.
